Although I know shipping in NYC is difficult, you should really consider marketing your sofas here because so many of us have narrow hallways and difficult stairways. MeganSofa2Here is the story of THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. The back story: I ordered the full-sized Lorelei sofa and, as promised, it arrived in four weeks and took less than 15 minutes for me to assemble. It looks gorgeous, and you’d never think it can be disassembled. However, it looked like they sent seat cushions for a shorter sofa, and there was a bit of a gap in between the cushions. I called the company and not only did they say they’d make new ones, but rather than have me wait for them to ship to my house, the PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY HIMSELF (that would be Jeff) would deliver them to my place on a Sunday because he lives in the area. As promised, he showed up when he said he would, and exchanged the too-short cushions for new ones that he had tested in the factory on a similar couch. People, this kind of customer service is so rare. This company clearly stands behind its products. If you need furniture, but you need to squeeze it through a narrow hallway or small elevator, these sofas will fit. Not only that, but you’ll be buying them from a company that treats its customers with kindness and respect. I’m happy to recommend Simplicity Sofas to everyone I know, and everyone looking this up on Yelp. Jeff didn’t pay me to write this :)

Working With Small Spaces: The Bathroom

77264949829038944One of the biggest problems that a lot of homeowners have is how to decorate rooms that are small spaces. This is often an issue in the bathroom because things like sinks and toilets can take up precious space in a small area. However, there are some great, easy decorating tips that can help you make a small bathroom seem much larger.

The first tip is to choose a lighter paint color for the walls. Soft colors give the illusion of more space, so choose these hues for the main parts of your bathroom like the walls or tiles. If you want to have bright, bold colors present, choose them for the towels or smaller details.

Another great way to add the illusion of space is to use mirrors and extra lighting. These things are usually put into the walls or ceilings so they won’t take up any additional space and they give the effect of a larger room by opening it up. The mirrors will also pick up the color and patterns you have in the bathroom.

Installing a glass shower door instead of a curtain will also make the room seem more open and give your eye the ability to pan over the entire space without being obstructed by something so opaque. Another great trick is to add details that will keep you looking up, like shelves placed higher on the wall or special details on the ceiling.

The year 2012 has been a fantastic year for SimplicitySofas.
