Pops of color

Using bright splashes of color is a popular decorating trend year-round, but it becomes even more fun when spring colors are at your fingertips. Bowls of bright, fake fruit and vases of artificial spring flowers can be placed in key locations for exciting flashes of color. Or, if you’re willing to shell out a little extra cash for a real spring feel, consider getting decorative lamps, curtains and mirrors in bold hues. Baby blues and pastel greens are sure to be trendy this season, so consider starting there and see where your decorating creativity takes you!

Throw pillows

Decorative pillows are always fun to play around with when redecorating. This season, banish the drabness of winter by covering your couches/sofas with slipcovers and beds in colorful pastels. Spice things up with glittery cushions and pops of embroidery. Don’t be afraid to consider floral or fruity prints — they are sure to brighten up all your living spaces.

Don’t be afraid of color.  Yes, white makes a room look bigger, but so does dark brown glossy paint (etc.) when paired with the right color furnishings.
Color can open up your space so go ahead and experiment with color (not to worry, if you don’t like it just repaint it)!   Like to change things up on a regular basis?   Go with a neutral color fabric on your sofa, paint the sofa wall with a pop of color and the other walls in neutral.  Add and an area rug with your colors and pull the whole room together with throw pillows in one or two colors from your rug.  Add some art work to the neutral walls and a few accessories in one or two colors from the area rug and watch the room come alive and pop.  When you’re ready to change again just add a slipcover and change out the throw pillows and accessories and you’ll have a whole new look.

#1 Fill your space with right size furniture.

Lights and mirrors are essential to the person living in a small space. Mirrors give the appearance of more space and interesting lighting make use of reflective surfaces and add style and glamour to you home.

They are also helpful to bring with you to the paint store or when shopping for the finishing touches and additional decorations.

Since colors and textures vary, having a swatch of the fabrics you like is a great tool to put your pieces together. This way you can see how the fabrics work together. There are lots of fabric choices out there today, from natural fabric like cotton to man-made fabric such as rayon, which is why we offer so many selections here at Simplicity Sofas.

Another thing to remember is the fabric should compliment the style of the furniture and add to its character. You will also want to be aware of the room size as you don’t want to choose an overwhelming pattern for a small space. Make sure the fabric fits the mood of the room too – is it warm or cool? Don’t choose a fabric just for its color alone, be sure to use something fitting for the room and atmosphere. Always remember you must love the fabric. Since you are spending time and money on your upholstered piece, make sure you find fabric you will enjoy for many years to come.

Here is the story of THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. The back story: I ordered the full-sized Lorelei sofa and, as promised, it arrived in four weeks and took less than 15 minutes for me to assemble. It looks gorgeous, and you’d never think it can be disassembled. However, it looked like they sent seat cushions for a shorter sofa, and there was a bit of a gap in between the cushions. I called the company and not only did they say they’d make new ones, but rather than have me wait for them to ship to my house, the PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY HIMSELF (that would be Jeff) would deliver them to my place on a Sunday because he lives in the area. As promised, he showed up when he said he would, and exchanged the too-short cushions for new ones that he had tested in the factory on a similar couch. People, this kind of customer service is so rare. This company clearly stands behind its products. If you need furniture, but you need to squeeze it through a narrow hallway or small elevator, these sofas will fit. Not only that, but you’ll be buying them from a company that treats its customers with kindness and respect. The first tip is to choose a lighter paint color for the walls. Soft colors give the illusion of more space, so choose these hues for the main parts of your bathroom like the walls or tiles. If you want to have bright, bold colors present, choose them for the towels or smaller details.

Another great way to add the illusion of space is to use mirrors and extra lighting. These things are usually put into the walls or ceilings so they won’t take up any additional space and they give the effect of a larger room by opening it up. The mirrors will also pick up the color and patterns you have in the bathroom.

Installing a glass shower door instead of a curtain will also make the room seem more open and give your eye the ability to pan over the entire space without being obstructed by something so opaque. Another great trick is to add details that will keep you looking up, like shelves placed higher on the wall or special details on the ceiling.
