I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THE HEIGHT IS THE SAME AS A NORMAL SIZE COUCH IS IT REAL LOW

  2. admin says:

Thanks Sheri for your question. Our sofas, small apartment sofas, love seats and chairs and a half are all standard. I am nearly 6 feet tall and I love mine. It is not low at all, if that is your concern.

As an aside, and for more information, if you are wondering about the seating or cushions (from the seat to the floor) the seating cushions you select could make a slightly unnoticeable difference. The softer cushions could be just a tad lower, obviously. The firmer, a tad higher. The down blend cushions are wonderful.

The cushion dimension is 22″w x 27″d for the full size sofas, love seats and chairs. The cushion dimension is 27″ w x 27″d for the apartment sofa and the chair and a half. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Or call us toll-free at 800-813-2889 and we’ll be able to lead you in the right direction that will fit perfectly for your needs. We look forward to hearing from you.

I love your designs and fabrics (got my samples yesterday). My question is this: would you ever consider adding a sectional sofa to your line of products? I am moving soon and I have my heart set on a small sectional. I will wait to purchase if you are planning to add something like this in the next year or so.

As a matter of fact, Carole, we are! We are in design right now… I will have Jeff, the owner, email you with more specifics. Thanks for asking.

Wonderful! I can’t wait to hear more about it.

I just sent Jeff an email to talk to you more about it. I’m excited, too!!!

  6. Jeff Frank says:

    Carole,

The sectional is underway. Estimated completion time is 2-3 months. That may be revised downward if our prototype builder frees up some more time after the first of the year (which is normally his slow period.) The first prototype frame module has already been partially constructed and the stage will be converting the prototype frame parts into drawings which will allow us to reproduce the sectional in production and to prepare patent applications.

There is a lot of hit and miss in this type of project as we are dealing with a completely new and different type of technology which will require its own patents. At the same time we feel it is critical to maintain the Simplicity Sofas 15 minute assembly time with no tools required. Considering that no other RTA sofa except Simplicity Sofas comes close to this standard, it is an interesting technological challenge.

The sectional frame we are working on will not be constructed of solid oak as all of our other products are. The precision required to get all of the components to line up properly and be completely interchangeable can only be accomplished by using plywood which is cut out and drilled using a computerized CNC router. We will keep the same arm styles (and may add some new ones) but everything else about the sectional, including cushion sizes, seating depth and upholstering techniques will be different from our current line.

I suggest that you check back with me in mid-January for an updated status report. If we do not run into unexpected set-backs it is possible the sectional may be ready for production as early as February 1. No prices have been established as of this time.

    Jeff

Thank you for all the information. I will be checking back to see what your new design looks like. One way or another, I would like my new furniture to come from your company.

  8. admin says:

Carole, we want your furniture to come from Simplicity Sofas too! We’ll keep in touch.

  9. Janet Yonker says:

Do you offer any colors in leather besides tan?

  10. admin says:

    Carole,
We are going into the studio to shoot the new sectional this week! We’ll send you pictures as soon as they become available and post a new blog all about the sectional.
